Words of Wisdom from Mom

The authors at The Frisky put together a list of 21 Important Lessons from Mom. On this Mother’s Day, I thought I would share some of my favorites:

Happy Mother’s Day! What is the best advice your mom has given you?

Truffula Trees Are What Everyone Needs

Top – Target; Watch – street vendor; Skirt – thrifted; Heels – Payless.

Let me reintroduce you all to my closet door. Until I buy a tripod here in New York, it’s the best I can do for a background when I prop my camera on my dresser. Boring, I know. But one day soon I’ll get a tripod and be legit, promise.

I wore this today for an interview for a summer internship. I’ll be doing social media a couple days a week for The TRUF, a non-profit theatre group. I’ll also be interning at the Norwood News, a community paper here in the Bronx, part-time. It’ll be a busy summer, but I’m hoping to learn a lot.

And can I tell you about this pencil skirt? It’s one half of the suit I bought during winter break for interview purposes. Grand total? $12. And did I mention it’s silk? Thanks, Goodwill.

Just wanted to share a few (ok, a lot!) of the last leg of my spring break trip! But guess what? I’m already on summer break! (I had the biggest breaks when it came to my final schedule.) Hopefully this means I can hop back on the blogging bandwagon.

P.S. Happy belated 21st birthday to my friend Nancy!

When In Rome

It would be awesome if I was just getting back from my European vacation, but no – I’m just really lazy now when it comes uploading hundreds of pictures. I guess enough bullying from my suitemates (hey!) has forced me to (finally) post a few pictures. I’ll spare you the trip recap though, but I will say Rome and Genoa (in northern Italy) are lovely.

Exciting News!

Tonight, I leave for Europe with my family for Spring Break! We’re flying to Genoa, Italy and then visiting Rome, Nice and Monaco from there! I kind of can’t believe it’s happening, but now that our departure date is here, I’m starting to get excited. I actually spent spring break of my junior year in high school in Rome and Athens – I can’t believe that was four years ago already! Here are some of my favorite shots from my first trip to Rome:

I can’t believe I get to see all of this again. I’ll be sure to grab a bite of pizza this time (long story). Are you going anywhere exciting for spring break?
